Lightness of being – The Hummingbird

The Hummingbird is a geometrical light art installation that represents this small brave being, in a large-scale, translucid construction.

This contradiction between the scale and transparency, and the size of the bird, forces us to stop, to think, to reflect, to look from another point

of view, to discover the meaning. How can such a small animal be so brave, with so much determination, flexibility, and joy? How can

he fly long distances to reach his destination and seek food? He is teaching humankind endurance, perseverance, and adaptability to new

circumstances. Many times, in life we are faced with sudden changes that force us to adapt, with this light art installation we would like to remember that, just

like the Hummingbird, we are capable of anything. The installation is design to walk around and to be seen from afar. The simplicity of the white structure

and perforated panels create and effect of lightness that is reinforce by colored light voids.

MATERIALS: aluminum; perforated aluminum sheet; RGB linear light; concrete base (optional).
