LIGHTOUSE - INSTALLATION

About the founder

Claudia Costa Vasconcelos is a Portuguese contemporary artist and founder of Fierce-Art Studio

She works with large-scale public art installations, light and immersive spatial experiences. Her work explores the emotional relationship between people, geometry, scale and public space. Through her monumental interventions, she transforms urban environments into contemplative and collective experiences.

“ I believe space is never neutral, as an architect, artist and creative director, I've spent over a decade asking one question: what happens when art enters a space that was never designed for it?"

The answer, she has found, is often the same: people stop. They look. They connect with something they did not know they were missing.

Influenced by her background in architecture, Cláudia approaches space through both an artistic and spatial lens. Her work combines structure, light, colour and scale to create installations that blur the boundaries between art, architecture and public experience.

Founded in 2020, Fierce-Art Studio serves as the creative platform through which she develops site-specific installations for festivals, cities, cultural institutions and public spaces internationally. The studio’s work transforms ordinary environments into immersive experiences that strengthen identity, memory and collective engagement

Recent work includes:

Giant Flowers in Porto (1st Prize, 2024)

The Hive (2nd Place + Honorable Mention, 2025).

Creator and Director of LIGHTME Lusail, the International Digital and Light Art Festival in Qatar (2018–2020),

One of creative directors for the Lusail Boulevard Activation Fest at the FIFA World Cup 2022.

International presence.

She has shared her perspective as a speaker at conferences in Doha, Boston, and New York, and continues to investigate how large-scale installations can redefine the emotional experience of public space

Giant Flowers, 2024 - Fierce Light Art Installation

We create art that belongs to place and community.

Each work by Cláudia Costa Vasconcelos begins with a process of deep listening: to the site, its history, its people, and the context it exists within.

Supported by Fierce-Art Studio, each installation is realized as a site-specific work that translates space through light, geometry, and scale, transforming public environments into shared immersive experiences.

Let’s create together!
